Courage Is a Gift
勇气是才能
Courage is daring to he Brave.Enterprising Bold.In your husiness or personal life, how often do you question your thoughts, your action, or your motives? When you don't exercise the ability to always test yourself, you may lose not only your confidence, but more importantly, you lose the ability to focus, to know yourself,your friends, and your customers.
勇气就是敢于冒险，勇于进取，勇往直前。在工作和个人生活中，你经常对自己的思想、行为或动机提出质疑吗?如果你不常锻炼并检验自己的能力，你不仅会丧失信心，更重要的是，你也将失去认识自我、朋友和客户的能力。
When faced with decisions and challenges, asking yourself questions every day, every moment gives you the courage to discover what is important to you and what a particular situation means to you, and what result or solution you will like to accomplish.
面对抉择与挑战时，你要时刻警醒自己，这样可以使勇气倍增，也可以发现对自己至关重要的东西;同时，对你有意义的特殊情形，你想获得的结果或解决问题的方法也会突显出来。
Courage is getting in the habit of inward and going with your highest feeling of what is true and what feels right for you. Apply this inner evaluation in your business and in your personal life .this is important if you wish to grow and
stay successful. It works!
勇气能让人形成自省的习惯，并让你的感受真实、恰当。假如你想成长并获得成功，把这种自我评价运用到工作和生活中就显得很重要了。这个方法确实有效。
Realize your weaknesses and work toward improving them. Continue to renew yourself and remember that life has a way of constantly testing your ability and courage to deal with it. When you can learn to appreciate the challenges in both your business and personal life, you find inner strength. Then you are able to bring about an inner peace and spirituality that gives you a good tool for building self-confidence and self esteem.
认清自己的弱点并极力加以改进。要不断地给自己注入生机和活力，并记住生活总会不时地检验你处理问题的能力和勇气。当你懂得欣赏工作和生活中的挑战时，你就会发现自身潜在的力量。而后，你就会获得内心的安宁与精神的慰藉，这样有助于你更好地建立自信和自尊。
Remember:motivation,passion, and your reason to succeed in life, as well as in business, are essential requirements to reaching your goals. Live life in a constant state of awareness, with peaceful thoughts, a dash of forcefulness, and a good measure of faith and spirituality. You will then be exercising your gift of courage.
谨记:无论是生活，还是工作中，获取成功的动机、热情和理智，都是你目标实现不可或缺的条件。生活需要有平静的思想，坚强的性格以及适当的信念和信仰，不断地思考。这样才能磨炼你的勇气。

The Four Freedoms
论四大自由
In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
在未来的日子里，我们将试图寻求安宁稳定，我们将期待在人类四项必不可少的自由的基础之上建立一个新世界。
The first is freedom of speech and expression — everywhere in the world.
第一项自由，是在世界上的每一个地方，人人都享有言论自由。
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way — everywhere in the world.
第二项自由，是在世界上的每一个地方，每个人都有以自己的方式信奉上帝的自由。
The third is freedom from want — which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peace time life for its inhabitants — everywhere in the world.
第三项自由，是在世界上的任何地方脱离贫困的自由。从全球意义上说，就是达成经济上的相互理解，以确保任何一个国家的居民都可以过上健康与祥和的生活。
The fourth is freedom from fear — which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor — anywhere in the world.
第四项自由，是在世界上的任何地方远离恐惧的自由。从全球意义上说，就是进行世界范围内的彻底裁军，从而使得任何一个国家都不会向其邻国采取武力侵略行动。
That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.
这并非对于遥远的太平盛世的幻想。在我们这个时代，我们这一代人有能力在这个确定的基础之上建立一个新世界。这样的世界，与那些独裁者企图用炸弹创造所谓的“新秩序”暴政截然对立。
To that new order we oppose the greater conception —the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear.
我们用一种更加伟大的观念来对抗那种“新秩序”这就是道德观念。一个良好的社会，能够毫不畏惧地面对主宰世界和在别国发动叛乱的种种阴谋企图。
Since the beginning of our American history we have been engaged in change — in a perpetual peaceful revolution —a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions — without the concentration camp or the quicklime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries,working together in a friendly civilized society.
自从美国有史以来，我们就一直致力于变革，致力于长期不断的和平革命，这场革命持续稳定地进行着，并冷静地调整自身以适应不断变化的形势。我们的革命没有集中营，也没有万人坑。我们所寻求的世界秩序，是自由国家彼此合作，是在友好文明的社会中携手工作。
This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them. Our strength is in our unity of purpose.
我们这个国家已经将其命运放在千百万自由的男男女女手中、头脑中和心中，并将其自由的信念置于上帝的指引之下。自由意味着无论在何处，人权都是至高无上的。我们坚决支持那些为争取或者捍卫人权而奋斗的人们。共同的目标使我们坚强有力。

Ambition
抱负
It is not difficult to imagine a world short of ambition.It would probably be a kinder world:without demands,without abrasions without disappointments. People would have time for reflection.Such work as they did would not he for themselves but for the collectivity. Competition would never enter in. Conflict would be eliminated, tension become a thing of the past. The stress of creation would be at an end. Art would no longer be troubling, but purely celebratory in its functions.Longevity would be increased,for fewer people would die of heart attack or stroke caused by tumultuous endeavor. Anxiety would be extinct. Time would stretch on and on, with ambition long departed from
the human heart.
一个缺乏抱负的世界将会怎样，这不难想象。或许，这将是一个更为友善的世界:没有渴求，没有摩擦，没有失望。人们将有时间进行反思。他们所从事的工作将不是为了他们自身，而是为了整个集体。竞争永远不会介入;冲突将被消除。人们的紧张关系将成为过往云烟。创造的重压将得以终结。艺术将不再惹人费神，其功能将纯粹为了庆典。人的寿命将会更长，因为由激烈拼争引起的心脏病和中风所导致的死亡将越来越少。焦虑将会消失。时光流逝，抱负却早已远离人心。
We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time or conditions of our death. But within all this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we shall live: courageously or in cowardice，honorably or dishonorably, with purpose or in drift. We decide what is important and what is trivial in life. We decide that what makes us significant is either what we do or what we refuse to do. But no matter how indifferent the universe to our choices and decisions, these choices and decisions are ours to make. We decide. We choose. And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed. In the end, forming our own destiny is what ambition about.
我们无法选择出生，无法选择父母，无法选择出生的历史时期与国家，或是成长的环境。我们大多数人都无法选择死亡，无法选择死亡的时间或条件。但是在这些无法选择之中，我们的确可以选择自己的生活方式:是勇敢无畏还是胆小怯懦，是光明磊落还是厚颜无耻，是目标坚定还是随波逐流。我们决定生活中哪些至关重要，哪些微不足道。我们决定，用以显示我们自身重要性的，不是我们做了什么，就是我们拒绝做些什么。但是不论世界对我们所做的选择和决定有多么漠不关心，这些选择和决定终究是我们自己做出的。我们决定，我们选择。而当我们决定和选择时，我们的生活便得以形成。最终构筑我们命运的就是抱负之所在。
